Women are the better half of the world and no one denies that. March 8th is devoted to women irrespective of the shape, size or colour. International Women’s Day is a day when each girl should stop and reflect on her own accomplishments and congratulate herself and her family and friends for making it this way.

Women’s rights, women’s issues, society, and other topics surrounding girls become the highlight of the day. Sushmita Sen, India’s first Miss Universe, at the final round of the competition. The International day of girl is the afternoon when she gets all that loving, caring and sharing back with interest. It’s a golden chance to appreciate and honor women at home, at your workplace, in the mechanisms, and at the grocery store.
A simple desire, a pat on the back, or maybe a simple email can make a big difference. Thank the special woman in your life with a greeting card. Tell her how much she means to you. If she is anything like me, it could easily fill her eyes with tears of pride and joy. Women have achieved a lot in each sphere of life but like the old saying goes, “Charity begins at home”.

Start with enjoying the everyday heroes living in home with us. Sometimes daily can be a struggle to get a working girl, a single mother or a homemaker from below the poverty line. They are courageous and emerge victorious and proceed to the next day ready for another fight. I believe that the average woman on the street deserves as much credit and praise for being the person she’s as much as celebrities do.
March is a month to appreciate and admit such idols of courage and dynamism living among us. On March 8th, International Women’s Day, let your mother, wife, sister, girlfriend, and every other special woman know how valuable her contribution would be to you personally. She’s truly indispensable. Let her know that — you’ll be glad you did!
