Organ meats, wild games, meat extracts, gravies and sweetbreads are all safe. Gout attacks can be prevented by increasing water intake and vegetable protein. You should also keep in mind that certain foods high in purines may contain essential nutrients your body needs, such as protein. You will need to replace these nutrients so your body can stay healthy. Talk to your doctor about which foods are safe and contain the nutrients you require. A multivitamin may be a good option.
